Hi there!
My name is Andrew Laro (he/his), and I’m excited that you’re considering working with Connect Church Communications. I currently live in Manhattan with my incredibly spunky cat Ari, where I’m pursuing a joint Master of Divinity at Union Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work from Columbia University. I’m also pursuing ordination in the United Church of Christ (UCC), with the intention of becoming a full-time minister myself. My dream is to lead a radically progressive church that practices extravagant welcome for those who have been rejected or harmed by the church in the past. In 2017, I earned a BA in Youth Ministry and a BA in Psychology from Eastern University. I also have seven years (and counting!) of experience working with churches in communications, administrative, and Faith Formation contexts. When I’m not making graphics or studying, I enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons (yes, I’m a major nerd and proud of it!), hiking, drinking coffee, reading, drinking even more coffee, playing with my cat, and sampling craft beer.
If you work with me, you’re not hiring a company. You’re hiring a person. Not only that, you’re hiring someone who understands the church and what it means to be a spiritual community. I’m a freelancer who is also a seminary student with years of church work experience. I know how important a local church is to its community, and I know how crucial it is for a church to be supported by reliable administration. I’d love to help make a difference in your church and your ministry, and I believe your church and ministry have something important to offer the world! If that sounds like the right fit for your needs, then click below to get in touch with me. We’ll schedule a meeting to discuss what your church’s particular needs are and how I can help. Together, we can make your ministry not just bearable, but enjoyable. I look forward to connecting with you!
